Why The Eureka Summit XT 3 Person Tent's the Best Tent for National Parks
I am the very happy owner of a Eureka Summit XT three person tent.
I have taken this tent essentially everywhere-from the backcountry to tons of national parks (Yosemite, Zion, Arches, Canyonlands, Yellowstone, Glacier, Badlands, Theodore Roosevelt) to regular campgrounds.
This tent stands up to pretty much any sort of weather-I've camped with this tent in torrential downpours with little to no leakage.
The rainfly works great, but if you know it's going to rain it might not be a bad idea to put a tarp underneath-the only place I've ever had water come in is around the door.
This tent is a 3 season tent. It's easy to put up, is nice and spacious and could easily sleep four or five people, even though it says three.
It may buckle under heavy winds, but reinforcing the poles with ropes or bungee cords will easily remedy this problem.
I have camped with this tent in California and Nevada deserts as well as northern Wisconsin and Canada in late fall and it never gets too hot or too cold inside, with the appropriate sleeping gear.
This tent is a great value for the money and I would recommend it to anyone!
I'm not sure if this model is currently produced anymore-I checked on the Eureka website and couldn't find it, but I got mine from Sierra Trading Post for super cheap, so I'd suggest looking there first! Good luck and happy camping!
The Eureka Summit is sadly no longer available. Be sure to check out these other Eureka Tents instead
