REI Hobitat 4 Tent Review: REI Makes The Best Tents
I use an REI Hobitat 4 Tent for my camping needs.
It has always served me well and I have never had any issue with it other than having to replace a pole that I broke from misuse, which was not a manufacturing issue and cannot be blamed on the product.
I found the REI Hobitat 4 tent to hold up very well in extremely wet and rainy conditions, although on most occasions I add an additional rain fly to the top of the tent that is not manufactured by REI.
See What Other Users Say About The REI Hobitat 4This is probably unnecessary, but better to be safe than sorry!
It has enough room for my family and the dog to sleep comfortably with all of our camping gear and most food supplies.
I do not bring my REI Hobitat 4 on backpacking trips because it is on the heavier and larger side of my camping tents, so I usually pack a couple smaller, more “portable” tents for when I'm backpacking.
I also cannot justify use of this tent for cold weather camping, as it does not have the cold resistant material I would need and does not insulate well.
I once took this cold weather camping on one of its first uses out of the box and we almost froze in the night!
I wasn’t expecting the material to let in as much cold as I thought, although it was not originally designed to be a cold weather tent, so I can forgive them for this oversight.
Overall, REI makes some of the best tents for camping and the REI Hobitat 4 is a great 4 person tent for your family.
