Sleeping in a Coleman Bayside Tent during a storm is like sleeping in a water-bed.
Learn why Coleman Bayside Elite 8 or 6 man family tents have mixed reviews.
The bright orange Coleman Bayside Elite Tent is anything but elite.
Few tent reviews have such varied comments and ratings by consumers. While one or two negative reviews can be discounted, when 50% are negative, then you should never purchase the shelter.
Please note: The Bayside is no longer made. This review will remain up for historical purposes though.

With dome family tents for camping, the four most important things to look for are:
If the tent fails to meet two out of the four, then you should move on. Based on consumer reviews, Coleman Bayside 8 and 6 man tents won't keep you dry and the two windows are not enough ventilation.
That aside, the bright orange, Coleman Bayside camping tent has a number of useful features, including:
That's it. Nothing special, nothing too noteworthy, but plenty of drawbacks...

Like the majority of Coleman tents found on Amazon, the biggest advantage of the Coleman Bayside Tent over competitors is its size for price ratio.
However, while some cheap tents are of decent quality, a Bayside Tent may ruin your family vacation.
Having a porch area to lounge in is useful during inclement weather--however, the porch is too small to be useful.
One of the Bayside Elite's few advantages is that it pitches easily.
Finally, the hinged door is neat, in a novelty kind of way--definitely not a strong enough reason to purchase the Coleman Bayside, no matter how cheaply priced the tent is.
First of all, you should never purchase a family tent for camping that is marketed as 'water resistant'.
Coleman claims the Bayside Elite is 'water resistant', not waterproof--and consumer reviews have echoed that stating the tent is unreliable during inclement weather.
6 and 8 man family tents must have sufficient ventilation and airflow. However, with only 2 windows and a hinged door, the Coleman Bayside Tent is bound to get stuffy.
Fiberglass tent poles are not as reliable as aluminum, which is another red-flag. If you camp during mild weather conditions or in your backyard, this isn't problematic--but most campers prefer not being restrained by weather.

Summary
A Coleman Bayside Elite is not an elite tent. It fails to keep your family dry while camping, is poorly constructed, and has terrible ventilation.
While some have found Coleman Bayside Tents to meet their camping needs, Camping Tent Reviews.com cannot recommend purchasing it.
