Can't Live Without My Chinook North Star 5 Tent | Tennessee Camping Stories

by Tai H.
(Tennessee)

I love my Chinook North Star 5. I've had it for four years and it has gone everywhere with me across the United States. I sleep in it when I visit friends, take it on camping trips, use it as a fort for my cousins and use it to ward off bad weather if I get stuck somewhere.

The Chinook North Star 5 is a five-person tent that goes up in a snap.

I love the opening, which doesn't let rain or snow in no matter how hard the wind blows.

It has great sealed seams and a bathtub-like bottom to keep the weather out of my sleeping bag. It's easy to clean, which is helpful because I inevitably track in mud if I'm not paying attention. Its zippers never stick.

My favorite story about my Chinook North Star 5 is the time when I went to a concert with friends. We planned to drive home that night, but my car broke down in a remote spot and we knew we wouldn't be able to get a lift for help until the next day.

After some discussion about what to do (we didn't want to stay at the nearby hotel because it was too expensive), I remembered that I had my Chinook in my trunk. The four of us laid down on my opened sleeping bag inside, listened to the crickets chirp, and talked all night.

If I didn't love my tent so much, I wouldn't have had it on me that night.

After that, I convinced one of my friends to buy a Chinook tent and keep it in his trunk, just in case.

Cabanon Trailer Tent Review

by Kelly G
(Tamworth, England)

I have a Cabanon trailer tent that is suitable for all our camping needs. It is a quite large tent with 2 bedrooms partitioned off and a central area.

It works great in the rain and is suitable for use with or without children.

It can be fitted with an awning to keep the sun off in those rather hot, sunny days. This gives us the freedom to vacation whenever we want in the summer and not have to worry about heat.

It has a sewn in ground sheet and is easy to keep clean. We had two double beds that came with the tent that are very comfortable and provide us with an easy, restful sleep.

Our Cabanon Trailer Tent has a cabin roof liner and under bed compartment. It came with a spare wheel, removable mattress, and seat covers.

The only thing I don't really like about my tent--and I find this with all tents--is getting it all set up when what you really want to do is start enjoying your camping trip.

We have all the necessary camping equipment, which fits in our tent very easily, such as lighting, heating, refrigerator, our suitcase. and bedding materials.

We regularly take our grandchildren away with us and we have more than enough room all round.

I love the fact that with a trailer tent we can go away on holiday pretty much as we see fit and pitch almost anywhere the fancy takes us.
